Good morning Ladies & gentlemen.
IBM全球副总裁Mark在授牌仪式上发言
I am very excited to attend today’s conference. China is a major leader in the world today, and is clearly taking the steps to continue that leadership through their commitment to their educational system.
Over the past 90 years IBM has been a Global leader in the Information Technology Industry. Our industry is estimated to be over $1 Trillion, and touches every country in the world. IBM is privileged to have hundreds of thousands of customers and business partners around the world, and these relationships have grown stronger over many years.
As technology changes and improves, so must the skills of the people in our industry. It is good business for IBM, and our industry partners and customers, to help nurture the skills pipeline in order to sustain and grow the marketplace.

Without the right skills, individuals are not competitive
Without the right skills, institutions are not competitive
Without the right skills, nations are not competitive
The Internet has democratized computing, barriers have fallen; High speed, high bandwidth communications coupled with high function, lower cost computing, has evened the playing field.
The contemporary NY Times columnist and author, Thomas Friedman, has stated that Business and Society have moved through many ages. He suggests that we’ve gone from an Agrarian Age to an Industrial Age to an Information Age and now to a Talent Age; where skills, and the ability to Innovate and apply technology to solve business problems will differentiate companies and maybe countries.
More importantly, the application of Information Technology to solve problems in industries ranging from Health Care to Banking, from Communications to Distribution, has not only help improve the profitability of companies, but the quality of life of many people around the world.
More than 20 years ago, IBM began its contribution of hardware and software to Chinese universities.
Over 10 years ago IBM signed a cooperation memorandum with the Civil Education Bureau of P.R.C. which started the IBM University Relations partnership to better support universities in their development of Information Technology professionals.
Now, IBM has selected Sodi Education to be the first Academic Initiative business partner in Jiangsu Province,
Sodi IT Experimental Training Center was authorized as a College Students Pre-Employment Training Center. The double authorizations by international enterprise and government proves that the order-oriented software talents cultivation is highly recognized and supported. This cultivation model attracts more attention from IT enterprises, universities and colleges. It was reported that many enterprises have made the talent order to Sodi Education. Tens of colleges have started the substantial cooperation with Sodi Education.
We look forward to a continued association with the Chinese government, our partners, and with Chinese colleges and universities, to help drive the continued success of the IT Industry in China.
Thank you very much.
